navajo walking meditation

With beauty before me, may I walk
With beauty behind me, may I walk
With beauty above me, may I walk
With beauty below me, may I walk
With beauty all around me, may I walk
Wandering on the trail of beauty, may I walk
–  Navajo: Walking Meditation

NAVAJO-WALKING-PLACE--- Carol Grigg

It’s Sunday morning and I am about to let go of a newly acquired habit…I will leave my smart phone at home as I head out the door.

Today’s walk will be simple! I don’t care how far I walk or how long. I only want to be in it. All in it!

I will make the extra effort to head out to a forest preserve with my only goal – to “wander on the trail of beauty”.

I will clear my mind with this Navajo meditation.

To walk with open senses – seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling the beauty of the trail.

To wander today and be the camera I left at home.

To become a conscious part of this Earth on this weekend morning.

To let go and fill my soul with nature’s beauty.

Can you find a place to walk today just to feel the beauty of this Earth?
